The Theme from Also Sprach Zarathustra Op. 30 is the famous opening fanfare from Richard Strauss' tone poem Also Sprach Zarathustra, composed in 1896. The piece was inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophical novel of the same name. The "Sunrise" section of the composition became widely recognized after its use in Stanley Kubrick's 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
