SKU: ATG10025A

For ensemble, parts 1-5 plus bass.

El Capitan March is a famous military march composed by John Philip Sousa in 1896. It was originally written as part of his operetta El Capitan, which was a huge success.

The march is known for its bold, triumphant melodies and lively rhythms, making it a staple in military and concert band performances.

Anthony Galla-Rini has arranged El Capitan March for accordion ensemble and parts:  accordion 1-5 plus bass.

This piece features a unique tempo change, shifting from 6/8 time to 2/4 time in the trio section, adding to its dynamic character. It was notably played by the Sousa Band during Admiral Dewey’s victory parade in 1899, further cementing its historical significance.
