| This CD includes the peices composed by Viatcheslav Semionov
when working in the city of Rostov-on-Don. There are several
editions of Semionov's pieces. One of them is presented by Yuri
Shishkin on this disk. Viatcheslav Semionov People's Artist of Russia, composer, professor of Gnessins Academy of Music, A. Schnittke Moscow State Music Institute, member of International Academy of Information Technology and member of the Executive committee of the Confederation Internationale des Accordeonistes (CIA). Semionov is a unique personality in a world history of accordion art. His performance was admired in more than 40 countries. His compositions for bajan and accordion are considered standard repertoire of many accordionists in the world and his works are compulsory pieces for many international accordion competitions. In 2008 he won the 1st prize for the best original composition for accordion in the Coupe Mondiale international competitions in Scotland. Viatcheslav Semionov achievements in pedagogic activity are also unique. He raised several generations of high level musicians who work in Russia and other countries. In recent years very many of V. Semionov students became laureates and 25 of them won first prizes in prestigious music competitions. In 2004 he was awarded the Merit Award of the Confederation Internationale des Accordeonistes. In 2005, the Order of Friendship was presented to V. Semionov by the President of Russia V. Putin. |
