 Yuri
Shishkin is a well-known Russian musician, Laureate of international
contests held in Klingenthal (Germany, 1988), Kansas City (the
United States, 1990), Castelfidardo (Italy, 1991).
Within the period, 17 to 28 years, Shishkin participated
in 10 competitions of various level, and he was a prize winner
of 7 of them.
Yuri Shishkin was born
in 1963 in the city of Azov, Russia. Yuri became a college and
a conservatoire graduate in the city of Rostov-on-Don, and then
his postgraduate traineeship followed in the class of Professor
Viatcheslav Semionov at the Gnesins' Russian Academy of Music in Moscow.
Yuri Shishkin is a performer who has made an enormous number of concerts
annually throughout the whole world for many years. His masterly performance
represents a synthesis of passion, unrestricted technical perfection, emotional magnetism and sincerity.
He draws the ideas of his interpretations
from the very realm of inspiration where probably music resides
and where beauty itself is born to come to our world. He is interesting
each time, in each of his performances. Each stunning performance is
a momentary touch with the bright and rich world inside his soul.
Yuri Shiskin is one of the most in demand concert accordionists. Not
only the geography of his tours is impressive, but the level
of his programs. In his repertoire we find the compositions
of popular composers for accordion, masterpieces of opera and symphonic
music, trascriptions of piano, violin, organ, vocal pieces.
Yuri Shishkin organizes festivals, concerts, popularizing bajan and accordion,
he delivers lectures and performs master-classes in the biggest
cities of the world.
