REVIEW
Quotes from other reviews:
The disc presents a series of ten duets that straddle the line between the artfully melodic and the experimental. Zanotti’s bass sound is thick and rubbery. He’s more than an accompanist. His arco work is rich and singing. He also keeps things rhythmically incisive and the two combine to give this music a lot of energy and forward momentum. (Cadence Magazine – luglio 2007. In the absence of percussion, Tiziano Zanotti’s bass enjoys taking full rhythmic responsibility, both pizz and arco. In his ebullient XA both players burst into a bout of percussive tapping and slapping, nicely integrated into the piece. The writing is in a modern and melodic, jazz-flavoured style, with plenty of improvisation. (Double Bassist – Autumn 2006)
