Some bring their horn, some bring their voice and they ask if they can do a few tunes with me. It usually works out well with good music flowing.

Some come to listen. Such is Dan and Joan Grauman. They came often! Joan was a piano major and is a very good accordionist. Joan told me many times, "You should write a piece for the accordion that reflects your style of playing."

With that in mind, I came up with a simple melody (theme ) using a major 7 to 6. Experimenting with different variations of major 7 to 6, I wanted to inject some fun and excitement, thus the scherzo. My intention was to make this piece a bit different from the standard accordion solo.

I sincerely hope that all who play Theme and Scherzo and listeners also, will enjoy a little bit of jazz in this piece.

Play sound file: https://accordions.news/2016_08_19cerrito/
