obriens051 Little Fugueing: Ensemble/Orchestra
The famous fugue is set for four accordions. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd play elaborate melodic lines in the right hand only while the 4th accordion divides responsibility between right and left hand. This is a complicated fugue, deemed "little" only to distinguish it from another Bach fugue of the same tonality. In reality, it is huge and requires considerable practice not only to master the notation but to perform with the musicianship and registrations required in all of Bach's composition. The result, however, rivals a performance on any pipe organ. |
