obriens014 Dodecaphonic Dawn: Solo
Serialism, based on the twelve pitches of the chromatic scale without any tonal center, has been an issue for composers since the early Twentieth Century. This original composition for piano accordion uses the pitches to form four chords, which become the basis of the entire composition. The technical demands of this composition, including the disjunct melodies of the right hand as well as bass/chord leaps in the left, provide a challenge to the performer. |
