Mario was born
on the 19th January 1991 in Atri (TE) Italy.
He began his studies on the organetto (diatonic accordion) with
Renato Ruggieri when he was just 5 years old. He achieved success
rapidly with victories in the Italian championships in 1998 and
world championships in 1999.
In 2000 he made his first recording LOrganetto virtuoso
In 2001 he began to study keyboard with Renzo Ruggieri and obtained
his diploma in Musica dIntrattenimento (Music
for entertaining) in 2004.
He continued his studies with Ruggieri on accordion in both Classical
and Virtuoso styles and won the prestigious Coupe Mondiale
in Norway in 2006 with this instrument. He is currently interested
in Jazz and continues to study this with Ruggieri.
His first CD is in preparation for release in 2009.
In 2007 he was awarded a prize Fisarmonica Futura (Future
of the accordion) at the Pineto Jazz Accordion Festival. He has
won the following national and international competitions: Ascoli
Piceno, Lanciano, Atri, Cerchio, Benevento, Rieti, Acquasparta,
Morro d'Oro, Castelfidardo, Asker (Norvegia).
In 2008 he has won:Honourable mention at the Premio
Ceroni in Castelbolognese (Italy) with modern orchestra
1st Prize at Primus Ikaalinen in Finland (live on national
TV)
1st Prize atTrophee Mondiale (CMA) in Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina)
from 1 to 5 October.
He has performed in tours throughout Italy and also abroad (Holland,
Norway, UK, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, Bosnia-Herzegovina,
etc) as a soloist and also as an endorser for the brands Ballone
Burini and Roland.
