Compositionally, I thought a great way to “take off” musically would be to begin with a chromatically ascending line and a bellows shake. This work has a lot of showy passage work and contrasting big bass solo lines with right hand accompaniment. Chordal passages allow the player to really let the instrument “sing.” A final bellows shake and big finish offer this work the potential to be a show stopper!
