Seven days a week she would sit in the park on the other side of the street. Under the old lime tree in the shade, always at noon. To me she looked beautiful sitting there not moving even an inch, head bent down towards the book in her lap.

As I worked I'd look now and then out the window and for my pleasure create short episodes.

For example: We were in a boat on a forest lake which was cloaked in the evening dusk. I row and she rests at the end of the boat allowing her hands to hang over the sides and skim the water. The marsh fragranced strongly and the velvety fog wrapped us into its cloak. Or: we wandered around a summer marketplace and I watched charmed how she with her big straw hat atop her hair hops from stall to stall chasing among the fruits the most perfectly ripe.

This is about how three days went by.

On the forth day I get hold of a telescope and aimed it towards her. I saw her face clearly and they were different to what I had imagined. The fog lifted on the forest lake and a gasp of wind snatched the hat. I almost felt annoyed as I thought of my made up idylls. Why?

Two days went by.

Then on a seventh day she finished the book, shut it, got up and rode away along the white sand, her face reflecting the turquoise of the sea.

The Face

A young artist's strong and determined face. The perfect control over the instrument, virtuosis easiness. On one hand extreme emotionality, on the other technical purity. Giftedness is also the travelling of ones road, the purposefulness of doing. Mika Vayrynen wants to bravely find new possibilities for his instrument without fearing old prejudice. In the end it isn't as important as to what, as it is to how.
