Anne
Landa (San Sebastian, 1971) trained as an accordionist in
the Conservatory Superior of San Sebastian, in 1991 she began
her postgraduate studies with J.L. Manca at the Natioanl Conservatory
of Grenoble, obtaining in 1993 the title of Medaile d'Or a
I' unanimite.
In the same year she created the accordion duo ACCO LAND,
based in Rome and specialising in contemporary music, commissioning
original pieces for the accordion from such well-known composers
as F.Mannino, L. De Pablo, J. Iges, L. Andriessen, F. Donatoni,
B. Porena, C. Crivelli, F. Romitelli, M. Pagliarani, Y. Sugiyama,
etc. Some of these pieces have been recorded for RAI (Italy),
Radio Vaticana, Radio Nacional de Espana and Radio della Svizzera
Italiana (Switzerland).
During this period ACCO LAND performed in various events and
European festivals of contemporary and clasical music, with
notable participation in the Gaudeamus Foundation in Amsterdam,
Festival of New Music in Bilbao, Festival di Novurgia in Milan,
Festival of music and dance in Granda, Teatro dell' Opera
in Rome, OrffZentrum in Munich, Teatro Rossini in Pesaro,
Academie Suisse in Paris, and Palazzo delle Esposiziooni in
Roma.
In 1997 Anne Landa created the cultural association which
bears her name in order to make this instrument and its repertoire
more widely known, holding seminars with contributions from
musicians such as Kepa Junkera, Stefan Hussong, Luciano Biondini,
Jean-Luc Manca and Miguel Ruiz, among others. Anne Landa has
recorded for the record lables Musica e Poesia, World Edition
and Esperia, as well as numerous collaborations for other
Spanish and Italian musicians.
She has worked with symphony orchestras in Roem and Perugia,
chamber ensembles such as Ars Ludi and Freon Ensemble, and
projects such as Songs of Freedom, Dag nacht dag dag with
the violist V. Mendelssohn, film productions, ballets and
theatre shows, notably the Centro Dramatico Nacional in 2000.
